I have always been interested in outdoor education and adventure, especially when I get to mentors kids and gets them to love being outside. Well, seven years ago, I began directing an outdoor program associated with a small, start-up private school about 30 minutes north of Atlanta. In the past seven years, we have grown the program six fold. Unfortunately, however, we are not subsidized by the school; so, we rely solely on fees that the students and their families pay. The rising cost of many of the activities that we do severely limits the number of kids that can participate, and I would love to see that number grow. Rangers Outdoors truly is need of support. We get out at least once a month and take on a variety of adventures from backpacking to mountain biking, to caving, to rock climbing and more. There are very few things that we will not provide high school kids the opportunity to do if we could only fund them. However, with the high cost of gas and soaring cost of transportation and guide companies, my costs have to remain high. This program would greatly benefit from your support. Although many of our members probably already support your company, we are also grooming future consumers for your products, especially when they know that you have helped them out, and I understand brand loyalty in this market (I carried the same backpack for 14 years). As a token of our appreciation, we will be glad to recognize your contributions publicly on our website and on the sides of our vans when we take trips. So, thank you for taking your time to read this letter and please contact us. |
